I’ve always been passionate about inspiring and journeying with people. For the last 20 years, classical education has been on the forefront of my mind, held my attention and occupied my time.  I entered classical education with the excitement and optimism that this method could produce a truly educated student, and have grown into an educator who has cultivated a life steeped in the purpose, principles and practices of classical education, not only for myself but for my students as well. I have come to understand more fully how classical education works to transform the soul more into the image of Christ.

In the beginning, armed with introductory knowledge and understanding, I focused my attention on content and the practices of classical education in my homeschool.  But quickly this became unmanageable. I was compelled to either abandon this path or go deeper.  I chose to go deeper. Since then, I have been pursuing greater knowledge and understand of classical education by looking to its purpose, nature and principles.  Though it has not been easy.  I found, even though the support in the area of content and practices were abundant, it was difficult to find accessible guidance and mentorship that would cultivate my heart as a classical educator.  I firmly believe that well cultivated educators result in flourishing students.

Since I’ve always been passionate about inspiring and journeying with people, I want to dedicate time to you, whether you are an emerging classical educator or veteran, a homeschooling mama or a teacher/tutor.  I want to journey with you as you cultivate yourself as an educator, I want to grow with you and see the transformation of our souls more into the image of Christ. I want to see you supported, encouraged and inspired. I acutely understand how overwhelming this journey can be and I aim to help alleviate the load, to make this journey more manageable, more joyful, more transformative for you and those you impact.

One way I can do this is through the Classical Matters Podcast. It is aimed at providing short episodes about the purpose, principles and practices of classical education and inspire ways to live these out, one action at a time.
